7 tips to protect and cleanse your aura

One’s aura is the energetic field surrounding the body that correlates to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of the individual. Commonly known as one’s subtle body, your aura provides you with intelligent insight into the vibrational frequencies of your body and mind. 

Because the health of one’s aura is a direct reflection of their overall health, protecting and cleansing our auras is serious business. We protect our aura to keep it from absorbing negative energy. We cleanse our auras because inevitably, negative energy will permeate our shield. That is why routine protection and cleansing practices are so important: they help us stay in a state of spiritual wellbeing, and when needed, provide us with holistic healing. 

While there are countless ways to protect and cleanse your aura, here are a few to help you get started. 


Affirmations

Affirmations are a loving and compassionate way to protect and cleanse your aura. Here are a few:

  • I am intentional about the energy I express to the world and the energy I allow around me. 

  • I speak life into my hopes, dreams, wellbeing, healing, and vision for my time on earth. 

  • I radiate peace and love during every conversation and situation during this day. 

  • I respect the boundaries I have set and am intentional about the relationships I build. 

Earth guides

Mama earth is one our greatest teachers and healers. There are many wondrous discoveries provided from nature that can help aid and cleanse ones auric field - including elements (not limited to) such as pink Himalayan salt, water, sunshine, crystals, sacred herbs, and florals.

Ritual bath

This is not your normal, run-of-the-mill bath. A bathing ritual incorporates the use of salts, crystals, incense, and ritual oils to cleanse negative energies that may have attached themselves to the auric layers of the body. Practice manifestation or visualization during this time, or conduct candle magick

Frequency music

A favorite of mine, listening to frequency music is an exceptional way to protect and cleanse your aura. Listen to the healing sounds of one of the seven Solfreggio frequencies to create positive shifts in your energetic field.  I have a series of playlists that highlight some of my person favorites as well.

Meditation/ Breath-work

Cultivating a meditation practice is a beautiful and loving way to protect and cleanse your aura. Guided meditation is an excellent start, as it uses the breath and visualization to help clear any stagnant energy or emotional blockages. Give it a try by searching on YouTube University!

As you know, your aura is an energetic powerhouse of vibrations on a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual level. Sometimes, one’s aura requires additional protection or cleansing. That’s where sacred energy clearing comes in. As part of one’s holistic healing journey, working with a reiki practitioner can help release stubborn energy and aid in emotional blockages that surface - all in a safe and protected environment. 

Fire clearing 

Fire has a unique ability to cleanse and rebuild, making it a lovely way to work on the health of your aura. Known as a purifying element, you can use fire as a reset button to smudge and clear away what no longer serves you. My current favorite smudging herb is Cedar. Please Note: be sure to proceed with caution and always have your tools in a fire safe bowl.
